River Olive Spinner Dry Flies
Unlike the rather dull river olive duns, the river olive spinners are characterised by wonderfully bright colours.  These range from amber to bright red depending upon the species.  The river olive spinners are active all day long but activity peaks from late afternoon.  Most of the female spinners lay eggs by crawling underwater.


Iron Blue Spinner
Size 16 only
The Iron Blue Spinner, or Lunn's Particular as it is sometimes called, represents the smaller river olive spinners.  It can be used throughout the day all year round but is at its most deadly from late afternoon onwards in Spring and early Summer.

Rusty Spinner
Sizes 14-18
The Rusty Spinner is a river olive spinner pattern.  It imitates the red/brown coloured Baetis spinners and can be used all year round but is at its best from late afternoon onwards on summer evenings.  Delicate casts are a must with all the spinner patterns.

Sherry Spinner
Sizes 12-14
The wonderfully named Sherry Spinner is a river olive spinner, specifically designed to imitate the female blue winged olive.  Like most of the river olive spinners the female blue winged olive spinner crawls underwater to lay her eggs.
