Midge and Chironomid Dry Flies
Midge and chironomid flies are sometimes called buzzers due to the buzzing noise large swarms can make. When midges swarm on lakes trout will rarely take anything else. There are river species of midge but they are too small to be of interest to fly fishermen.
The adult midges are large and colourful and can be seen mainly on warm summer evenings. |
